Statement of Faith

We believe the Holy Bible is the final authority in all Christian life in matters of faith and practice.  It is the divine revelation and inspired Word of God.

 

We believe in the Holy Trinity, one living and true God in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, who is all powerful, all knowing, ever present and unchangeable.  God is infinitely perfect in love, grace, mercy, righteousness, justice, goodness, and absolute truth.

 

We believe Jesus Christ the Son of God, was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary.  Jesus is fully God and fully man.  He lived to fulfill prophesy, performed miracles to manifest His deity, lived a sinless life, suffered, was crucified, and died as a sacrifice for the sins of the whole world.  Jesus Christ rose from the dead on the third day and His resurrection guarantees the resurrection of all who believe and are saved by and through Him.  He ascended into heaven, and there intercedes for believers, reigns over the entire universe, and will return to earth to establish His Kingdom.

 

We believe man was created in the image of God. God created human beings, male and female (Genesis 1).  Marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman (Genesis 2).  Man was given free will to choose between good and evil.  The disobedience of Adam and Eve, known as “the fall,” was a voluntary decision and led to separation of man and God.  As offspring of Adam and Eve, we were born with an inclination to sin.  God, in his mercy, provided a plan whereby man could be restored to a right relationship with God. The Father’s only begotten Son, Jesus, came to earth to live among men.  Though the only man who has ever lived a sinless life, He died on a cross for the sins of the whole world.  He died, was buried, and on the third day resurrected from the dead.  The blood of Jesus was shed for our redemption.  Those who respond to God’s grace and receive Christ by faith are forgiven of their sins, born of the Holy Spirit, and thus become Children of God.  The atoning work of Christ is the only remedy for sin, providing salvation and restoring those who accept Jesus by faith into a right relationship with God.

 

We believe all Christians are part of the Body of Christ, the Church, of which Christ is the Head.  As believers and followers of Christ, we are called to glorify the Lord, make disciples, serve others, expand the Great Commission, seek to keep unity of the Spirit, and promote the bond of peace in the Name of the Prince of Peace.

 

We believe that one day every knee will bow, and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.  We pray for the speedy coming of that day!
